Treating Myself on Mother's Day

This Mother's Day will be a little different. There will no boozy brunches or relaxing spa days without the kids. This year will be low key and appreciating all the blessings that I have in my life. We have a fun-filled day of breakfast in bed and DIY projects. I can't wait.

I wanted to treat myself because of this pandemic has made me realize that I need to move. Meaning if I want the cake, eat cake. If I want to go shopping, go shopping, but also make sure my business is taken care of. And, by business, I mean my bills are paid and savings are rising. For some weird reason, I often feel like I don't deserve to take care of myself. I know it's weird, but is it something that I have been struggling with for a while. It has gotten better over the years but was really hard when I was staying home with my babies because I wasn't really working. I didn't feel as independent as I do now.

This is the first step in learning to love and treat myself.  With that being said here is my Mother's Day Guide to treating yourself.

PAJAMAS, ROBES, & HOUSE SLIPPERS

Since a lot of us are stuck at home sleepwear has become a huge part of our lives. I'm considered an essential worker so I leave the house everyday but it is the first thing I put on everyday I get home from work. So, why not have something a little nicer than my norm.

BEAUTY

Beauty is something that makes me feel good. I love taking care of my skin and relaxing. I also love QVC so when ever I'm having a hard time swallowing the pricing for something I go to QVC and breakdown the payments. Chris calls me the payment plan queen, which I don't deny. I hate giving all my coins away when I can keep a few.

JEWELRY

Mother's Day is the perfect time to get jewelry. This year was the first year I invested in a nice monogram necklace with my kids initials. I have had necklaces and rings with the kids' names on them but the quality wasn't there and I would have skin irritations so I would have to stop wearing the pieces. I also believe in building a legacy and someday my children will have these items to pass on to their children.

Hopefully this will give you all some ideas on how to treat yourself on Mother's Day! Do you have any plans? How are you celebrating doing quarantine?
