New Age Grocery Shopping with InstaCart

In the past month our lives have completely changed. Our routines have changed into survival mode. The way we shop and live is no longer the same. Since I am an essential worker, I have the privilege of being outside, I was grocery shopping trying to be normal as possible. But, there is nothing normal about being out and about these days.

In the past, I have used grocery delivery but I was not satisfied with the outcome. Especially, since I decided to try it out on Thanksgiving. Imagine getting your groceries the night before Thanksgiving and multiple items being spoiled or moldy. Needless to say I was never going to do it again.

When the Coronavirus took over and it made grocery shopping more difficult. At first, I was frustrated, every time I would ago on to Whole Foods website there were no delivery times. After two days of waiting, I thought to myself where could I order food that wouldn't be busy, I decided on Aldi and then discovered Instacart.

Quick Run Down
I may be really late but I like this service. Having the option to order from more than one store is awesome. It's really easy to navigate the website and you even have time to edit your purchase before it has been delivered. I was scared because living on the southside of Chicago doesn't offer a lot of food choices. It's a food desert but it has been getting better the past few years.

The service was not with a few glitches, but it was way better than other services I have tried and not enough issues to complain about. Remember, during these times personal shoppers are considered essential workers and to be able to purchase affordable groceries and have them delivered is a blessing.

Instacart is a simple website. Signup and enter your zip code to find out what stores are available in your area. From there, once you pick your store, go shopping...Once you find all the things you are looking for, checkout. Here you can chose when you would like your delivery, this is also an opportunity for you to decide if the shopper can replace items not found or chose not to replace those items, this is where things get tricky.  In my opinion, I would put don't replace because you never know what the shopper will replace your item with and you don't want to get stuck with something you don't want.

After your order is complete, you have time before your order is processed to add or edit your order.

Hopefully this will be over soon. But where are you getting your groceries from? Are you having issues finding things?
